I've read the posts (not many), so I don't know if this will get to anyone or not.
I've tried all sorts of meds for my migraines (I'm 51 and all reports say that 40 is when migraines stop?).
My first med (back in 1979) was for preventive measures..Amitriptiline/Inderal(I think that was the name as its been a long time) and Ergomatine under the tongue for pain, which made me very sick at my stomach.
Then I was given several samples that ingredients included triptan, which also made me sick.
I tried Topamax, which never helped.
I'm currently on an anti-depressant Paxil, after trying Prozac & Amitriptiline again, but without Inderal. Doc also gave me Klonopin, but I don't like it as it makes me unsteady on my feet. I'm also using Firocet and get rebound headaches because I tend to use too much some times. Doc gave me Cymbalta samples, which caused nausea. I think this doctor thinks depression is causing migraines....but I continue to do what he says. Office visits are $78.00+ and I have no insurance.
Anyone have any info on other meds? I have tried "Headon" and "sinusbuster".....no help. PLEASE ANYBODY....HELP~~ I have been unemployed (quit) for almost a year now and we are in deep financial debt! Help?????? Anyone?????

Hi there,
I can possibly help you with this if you wished to explore some more unorthodox ideas.

i have a great home remedy for you...

I use a form of meditation instead of dealing with doctors and medication. I go into a dark room for about a half hour, close my eyes, concentrate entirely on my breathing, and relax! I use a product I found online called the Face Caddy that helps me in the meditation process. The Face Caddy is a velcro sling that goes around my head and lets me ice my head absolutely hands free. The meditation along with the Face Caddy really help to stop the migraine pain and let me live a more normal life.
